Morocco has registered 5,836 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recorded nationally since the start of the epidemic to 252,185.


Currently, the total of active cases increases to 42,432, of which 935 are in serious condition, which represents an occupancy rate of intensive care beds dedicated to the coronavirus of 36%.


In terms of national incidence, the rate increases to 694.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Over the last 24 hours, the incidence is 16.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which has broken all records since the start of the epidemic in Morocco.


At the top of the affected regions is Casablanca Settat with no less than 2,409 cases including 96 in Nouaceur, 90 in El Jadida, 78 in Mohammedia, 67 in Settat, 58 in Médiouna, 48 in Berrechid, 23 in Benslimane and 18 cases in Sidi Bennour .


The region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra comes in second place with a new explosion of cases. A total of 1,060 cases have been recorded, most of which are located in Salé with 284 cases, not far behind with 273 cases comes Skhirat-Témara, followed by 211 cases in Kénitra, 100 cases in Sidi Kacem, 95 in Rabat, 93 in Khemisset and 4 in Sidi Slimane.


Two other regions explode the counters with more than 500 cases each. These include the Oriental region and Souss Massa. The Oriental thus records 686 cases, almost half of which are taken up by a single city. The city of Oujda-Angad recorded 336 cases, followed by 90 ca in Berkane, 86 in Guercif, 77 in Nador, 42 in Jerada, 32 in Driouch, 19 in Taourirt and 4 in Figuig.
